Parco Naturale Fanes-Senes-Braies, as the park is actually called, is one of the largest protected areas of South Tyrol and the Dolomites. It is popular amongst visitors from all over the world and its tourist magnet Lago di Braies attracts hordes of people. It is easy though to escape the masses by either avoiding the main season or by diving deeper into the park. Once you leave behind the crowded spots you’ll enter a high alpine paradise.
